Notes:
The Functional Group Co-ordinators meet regularly with the Project Management Group. Technical issues are typically settled at this level covering such areas as identifying location/item type codes, call number indexing, storage call number display, summary of holdings and authorities.
An example of the work of the Functional Groups: what is required to convert the individual library databases into a language and MARC format that the Voyager system will accept. Another area of attention has been the conversion and future requirements of location and item codes. The exercise is an example of TUG co-operation in action. Members of the cataloguing, OPAC and Circulation groups decide what location and items codes are needed within each institution, and how those location and item codes can be loaded into Voyager and used by each institution.
